Kaycee Thompson, Class of 2021, signs to play collegiate softball!

With the end of this school year, the Class of 2021 takes their place as Adrian High School seniors.  They will be planning for life beyond high school, and looking to the future.  It is with great pride to announce that incoming AHS senior Kaycee Thompson has signed to play softball at State Fair Community College in Sedalia!

Kaycee is excited for her post-high school softball adventure.  She said, "I’ve had a lot of options but I like the small town feel about this school. And I’m very excited to play for Coach Talbot."

It all began for Kaycee before kindergarten. She has a long track-record of playing the game she loves so much, when she began playing t-ball at the age 5. Since that first year, Kaycee played competitive softball at the age of 9 for Intense Heat. Now she plays for the Lady Blackhawks, and competitive teams Top Gun 02 and a national team, TMB. Sentiments from Kaycee about her years of softball:  "It’s been so much fun meeting new teammates and having them become like sisters to me."

For the Blackhawks and her other teams, Kaycee is an experienced, high-performing pitcher.  She said, "Throughout the years I’ve played all the positions on the field until I found the one I fell in love with."  Kaycee has earned many post-season high school softball honors, including:  2018, Freshman - First Team All-Conference, First Team All-District, First Team All Region, Second Team All-State; 2019, Sophomore - First Team All Conference Unanimous, First Team All District.

Appreciation from Kaycee:  "I just want to thank my parents, my coaches, all my friends and family who have supported me throughout all of this. I couldn’t have done it with all of them!"

KAYCEE, MANY CONGRATS!  WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO CHEERING YOU ON NEXT SPRING WITH THE LADY BLACKHAWKS AND AFTER THAT IN COLLEGE!
