The Adrian Blackhawks junior varsity football squad hosted the Rich Hill Tigers at the George Bruto Athletic Complex. Adrian won in convincing fashion 40-6. Several kids saw the end zone and the team scored touchdowns on defense as well.
Hunter Steen had three rushing touchdowns. Tanner Pitts had a nice run for a score as well. Nicholas Preston scored on a 60 yard pick six. Brendan Shackles knocked the ball free on a quarterback sack and Anson Johnson picked up the pigskin and ran 45 yards to paydirt. The last five yards were with a Tiger defender on his back. Johnson was able to fall over the goal line for the score.
Adrian sits at 2-0 on the year and will host the Midway Viking next week at the complex. Their game will follow the first junior high game of the year. It will be a good time to come out and see the future of Blackhawks football.
