JH Boys Basketball Team celebrates the newest Blackhawk!

 The JH boys basketball team celebrate the arrival of the newest Blackhawk with 

Coaches Vanslyke and Tenholder.  Welcome, Jordan Thomas Vanslyke!

Blackhawks Basketball Coaches Josh and Meghan Vanslyke are proud first time parents! On December 6, 2016, they welcomed Jordan Thomas Vanslyke into their family at 8:23pm. He was 7 pounds 8 ounces and 19 inches long.  Welcome to Blackhawks Nation, Jordan!

To celebrate the newest Blackhawk's arrival, the JH boys basketball team presented Head Coach Josh Vanslyke with an array of baby gifts.  The boys gathered around Coach Vanslyke in the locker room, along with Assistant Coach Wade Tenholder.  True to the camaraderie of this group of boys, there were lots of laughs, lots of cheers (as if they were at a ballgame!), and a whole lot of fondness for a coach that is well-respected and liked.

The JH season is coming to an end but Assistant Coach Meghan Vanslyke is just getting started with HS girls basketball.  Look for Baby Jordan to be sporting his very own Blackhawks onesie that says, "Relax, my Mommy and Daddy are Coaches" with "Vanslyke" on the back.  Special thanks to Janet McCanles for making this shirt for the JH boys to present to their coach.  Two warm, soft baby blankets were also included thanks to Team Manager Trevor Newport's Grandma!  

Coaches like the Vanslyke's are such an important part of a student athlete's life.  We are blessed to have them in Adrian.
