Dear Parents and Community Members,
Our school building is about to undergo a major roofing
project. This project is due to the hail storm that caused damage to so many
buildings in Adrian last spring. Our insurance company agrees that the damage that
occurred to the school roof allows us a complete roof replacement, the majority
paid for by insurance. The good news is that we are getting an entirely new
roof for a small, out-of-pocket cost to the district. If we were to replace the roof without
insurance help, this project could take 10 to 15 years to complete, and we
would possibly need to run a bond issue to help pay for it.
The roofing project is scheduled to begin in late November
or early December and will continue throughout the spring. Work will be taking
place on the roof during the school day; however, the roofing contractor will
be working with us to try to keep the noise down during learning time. All of the noisy tear off of the old roof
will be done from 5:30 to 8:00 in the mornings before classes begin, but there
will be some noise during learning time while installing the new roof and due
to foot traffic upon the roof. It is our mission to carry on educating students
without interruption.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at
the school.
Thank you
Don Lile
