Adrian School District Announces Head Football Coach

The Adrian School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Matt Davis as the Head Varsity Football Coach for the 2021-22 season. Matt is a 2004 graduate of Cass Midway High School, he received his bachelors from Pittsburg State University in 2009, and his masters in Administration from William Woods University in 2020. Matt played football and ran track at Pittsburg State and was a member the 2004 National Runner-Up Football team. He is in his 12th year of Education, this being his 10th year at Adrian. From Classroom to Gridiron Head Coach Encourages Greatness

The Adrian Blackhawks are playing for the State Championship December 3rd at Faurot Field in Columbia, MO. Much has been said about the team and the players' individual performances to get them to the title game. Nothing has been said about the coaches that have prepared and motivated the players to excel on the biggest stage 20 years after winning the schools only state football championship. Matt Davis is a 2004 graduate of Cass Midway, Adrian’s longtime conference rival. He played defensive end at Pittsburg State from 2004-2007. He was a part of the 2004 MIAA Conference championship team and national runner up. Matt was also a member of the 2005 conference champions track team as a shot put and discus thrower. Speaker A'ric Jackson has significant impact on R-III students

Mr. A'ric Jackson, pictured left, spoke to MS and HS students. STUCO President Christian Evans, right, introduced Mr. Jackson. Adrian High School Student Council is responsible for a life-changing presentation given to both middle and high school students last Wednesday. Mr. A’ric Jackson, a motivational speaker, made a huge impact on the students, and they had lots to say about his presentation. In addition, Mr. Jackson offered four hours of leadership training to STUCO (middle and high schools). Christian Evans, HS STUCO President: A’ric Jackson will go down as one of the best speakers I’ve heard in my time at Adrian as well as in my life. The way A’ric captured the audience and adapted to keep their attention was fantastic. The leadership workshop he put on was next level.
