Meet the Teams: 2018 Adrian Blackhawks Football

Two-a-days are out of the way as is the Jamboree.   The 2018 season kicks off this Friday when Adrian travels to Butler to take on the Bears.  There is a lot to be excited about this year.  Hopes run high among the fans that this could be a special year.   Let's meet the players and coaches we will be following this fall.
Head Coach Matt Cochran is in his 27th year of coaching with the last 22 coming at Adrian.  Assisting Cochran are coaches Matt Davis, Caleb Noland and Josh VanSlyke. This group of coaches led Adrian to an undefeated conference record and a 10-2 overall record in 2017.
This year's strengths will be the fact that there is a wealth of experience. There are 9 starters returning on each side of the ball. A lot of these kids have started for two years. The team will be big up front. The five interior linemen will average 240 pounds with a couple of back-ups just as big. There will be some speed returning as well.
The offensive line should be able to push opposing defensive lines around. One are of improvement the team has right now is completing passes. Once that is worked out the team will be very balanced on both sides of the ball.
Players lost to graduation are: Nicholas Preston, Josh Collins, Dylan Bell and Denton Cunningham. Returning lettermen include: seniors Dakota Harris, Anson Johnson, James Keating, Noah Koehler, Gavin Reed, Hunter Steen, Cameron Tallman and Evan Tolle along with juniors Bryant Burkes, Brody Ford, Cooper Mead, Kyler Six and sophomore Keaton Cook.
