The 2015 Adrian Blackhawks volleyball team lead by Head Coach Kelsi Robards and assistant Coach Megan Johnson returns 4 starters plus several key substitutes from last years 25-6 squad. Altogether they have six returning lettermen: Malory Moles, Brenna Adkins, Bailey Reed, Lauren Shipley, Anna Walley & Kerigan Wimsatt. Only one player is in her senior year so the group is still a young team looking to take the next step.
Adrian lost Kaitlyn Miller, Shelby Pittman, and Lydia Reynolds to graduation. Even though they lost key hitters to graduation they have maintained a strong offensive system.
This is Kelsi Robards seventh year coaching volleyball and fifth at Adrian. Last year she coached the team to a third place finish in the WEMO conference with the only conference losses coming to Midway and Osceola. Along the way they took home the hardware finishing first in the Midway Tournament and second in the District Tournament.
According to Coach Robards they will continue to spend a good amount of time working on their defensive skills as she believes it is what will help them achieve a successful season.
