In football action the Adrian junior high "A" team traveled to Archie to take on the Whirlwinds. Archie proved to be a very tough opponent. The Blackhawks lost 32-14. Bryant Burkes threw a couple of touchdown passes. The first was a 72-yard completion to Owen Tallman. His second pass was a 53-yard pass to Cooper Mead. It was a tough loss for the team but one that provided the team with many learning experiences. The B team plays at Appleton City in an 8-man contest tomorrow and hope to rekindle the winning ways.
While that game was going on the Junior Varsity squad was in El Dorado Springs. The Blackhawks defeated the Bulldogs 24-18. Hunter Steen had two touchdown passes on the night. Both were to Jonhenry Jackson. Steen also had a 23-yard rushing touchdown on the night. Getting in on the scoring action was Dakota Harris. The 30 yard run to paydirt completed the touchdown trifecta for the Harris brothers this week. Logan and Hunter each had touchdowns in the varsity game on Friday.
The junior high volleyball team traveled to Clinton to play the Cardinals. They emerged victorious and headed home a very happy bunch.
Events on the schedule for tomorrow include middle school football at Appleton City. Game time is 5:30pm.
The junior varsity volleyball team plays Warsaw at 5:30pm. The varsity volleyball team hosts Warsaw Wildcats after the junior varsity match. Game time is approximately 7pm at Adrian.
