Varsity Volleyball Has Another Sensational Week

The Adrian Blackhawks Varsity Volleyball team downed the Osceola Indians and Drexel Bobcats each in straight sets this week.   The games provided the team some playing time leading into the Midway Tournament that had been rescheduled for the weekend of October 3rd due to inclement weather in September.
The Blackhawks played Osceola at home September 29th.  Victory did not come easy but they won both sets by the score of 25-23 and 25-22.
Head Coach Kelsi Wimsatt said "We knew this was going to be a tough match for us and it definitely was.  Osceola has great defenders and we were forced to work for every point.  We had some tough moments but the girls hung on and played hard throughout the entire match."

  • Serving points:  Lauren Shipley 12, Anna Walley 10,   Bailey Reed, Elyse Reynolds and Kerigan Wimsatt each had 7
  • Aces:    Walley 2,  Mallory Moles, Shipley, Wimsatt each with one
  • Kills:    Reed 8, Walley 8,  Moles 6, Shipley 5
  • Assists:    Reynolds 26
  • Digs:      Moles 10, Wimsatt 5,  Reed 4
  • Blocks:    Shipley 2, Reed 1, Walley 1
The busy week continued October 1st at Drexel.   The Adrian Blackhawks won both sets 25-18 and 26-24.    Two big wins that don't come easy is valuable for a team that is having little trouble bringing home victories.
Head Coach Kelsi Wimsatt commented on the game, "I am especially proud of how well the girls played considering we had three matches this week.   We have talked about the importance of this week for some time now.   The girls were ready to take care of business."
