I am combining both games out of convenience to their similarities. Both varsity teams came into the tournament seeded #1 and faced off with the lowest seeded team Christ Prep out of Lenexa, KS.
Both teams opened the game scoring 20+ points in the opening period while holding Christ Prep to the lower single digits. Both teams won by 35+ points.
Dylan Novovesky played a solid all-around game. He led the team in both scoring (15 points) and rebounds (6). The boys improved their season record to 13-8 with a 4-1 conference record.
Lauren Shipley had the hot hand for the Lady Blackhawks. Shipley was 3/5 from the three point range and scored 17 points to lead the team.
The wins put the teams into the semifinal round of the 30th annual Midway Tournament. The boys faced Archie for the right to play for the championship. The girls faced off with the Lady Knights of KC Lutheran for their chance to take the title.
