Dominant Third Quarter Lifts Blackhawks over Appleton City Bulldogs

The Blackhawks varsity boys team showed a bit of jet lag from a busy week of basketball including a makeup game against the Midway Vikings the night before facing the Appleton City Bulldogs.    Adrian scored only 5 points in the opening quarter and trailed 12-7 after one.   A marginally better second quarter coupled with better defense helped Adrian pull within 4 points at the break.

Head coach Tyson Basore got the boys turned around at halftime.   The boys came out and lit up the Bulldogs with 17 points while holding them to 7.    The ten point margin in the third quarter gave them a six point lead that they hung onto in the fourth quarter before sneaking out with a 43-38 victory to ruin Appleton City's courtwarming.

"We played without emotion and Appleton City did a good job of guarding us" said Basore.  "We made enough plays down the stretch to win."
