Lady Blackhawks are 2015-2016 Undefeated WEMO Conference Champs!!

The Lady Blackhawks went to Rich Hill with the chance to become the undefeated champions of the WEMO conference with a victory over the host Lady Tigers.   Adrian would accomplish that with a 53-31 victory despite missing one of their starters, Sheldon Tallman, due to illness.

Since Adrian lost the championship game of  the Archie Tournament they have come out and laid waste to their opponents.  Excellent defense, great ball handling and smart shot selection has been key in their victories.    The Lady Blackhawks have defeated their last seven opponents by an average of 25 points.

The glory of winning the WEMO conference is over as the team prepares for the Class 2, District 13 championships getting underway Monday, February 22nd in Rich Hill.   Adrian, despite a 22-2 record will be seeded second to the Jasper Eagles.    Jasper ended Adrian's season last year in district action.

All signs point to a showdown between the two teams on Saturday at 6pm in Rich Hill.   For that to happen Adrian will have to get past Greenfield in the opening game and, probably, Lockwood to set up the rematch.   Jasper should have no trouble with the Archie Whirlwinds and will face the winner of the Midway Vikings and Rich Hill Tigers to advance to the district Championship.
