AHS Alum Corey Urie continues to make an impact

In February of this year the Adrian community lost a lifelong Blackhawk alum. Corey Urie lived his life well and was deeply loved by his family and friends. He had many talents and was especially known for his undeniably amazing gift as an artist. Corey's family believes that it may never be known the extent of his generosity or the magnitude of the impact that he made on this world.

Corey's legacy lives on. His impact on this community continues to be strong. The Urie Family established the Corey Lee Urie Memorial Fund through Adrian Bank to support the educational programs at Adrian High School that Corey enjoyed. In lieu of flowers at his memorial services, donations were made in Corey's memory. The first purchase was made from this fund and presented to the R-III Art Department. Corey's oldest sister, Cassidy, shared sentiments on behalf of her family about her brother and their purchase: "One of Corey's passions and talents was art. He could draw or create anything he set his mind to. I am proud to say that the first item that we purchased for the Adrian Art Department is this pottery wheel. Soon it will have a plaque that reads 'Donated by the Corey Lee Urie Memorial Fund.' Thank you to all who donated to this fund so that we could share Corey's love for the arts with future students of AHS."

Additional purchases will be made as funds allow. Donations to the Corey Lee Urie
Memorial Fund are always welcome. You can help Corey and his family make and impact! Send donations to Adrian Bank, P.O. Box 127, Adrian, MO 64720. The Urie Family thanks everyone for all of the love and support.

This pottery wheel was gifted to the Adrian R-III Art Department from the Corey Lee Urie Memorial Fund.
