For many years the Adrian Optimist Club has presented a well-deserved award to the Adrian Teacher of the Year in Elementary and in Secondary (Middle/High Schools). This year the Optimists also honored the Support Staff of the Year.
These awards are selected by the school administration. A variety of factors go into their decisions. Josh Nieder, representing the Adrian Optimist Club, presented this year's awards. The 2015-2016 Elementary Teacher of the Year is Lisa Widner. She teaches 2nd grade and makes more of an impact on her students than she may ever know. Julie Carr, who gives so much of herself in the classroom and in FCCLA, is the MS/HS Teacher of the Year. Receiving the first ever Support Staff of the Year is Becky Greer. She is retiring this year and will greatly missed by all.
Congrats to these ladies, they are most assuredly deserving of this special honor!
