Shipley and Reed bring home a track title and medals

Bailey Reed & Lauren Shipley

Suiting up for the Lady Blackhawks at the State Track Meet at Jefferson City High School last weekend were Juniors Bailey Reed and Lauren Shipley.  The team of two placed 10th overall. Shipley came home with a state title and a new school record in the 300M hurdles, and medals in all four of her events.  Reed brought home medals as well and finished strong in pole vault with a 4th place spot on the podium.

Adrian is sure proud, and so is Head Coach Matt Cochran.  He said, "Girls did a good job this weekend. As a team finishing 10th place with only two girls is pretty good. I know in some events the girls were a little disappointed because they didn’t get a PB, but even getting here is special. On a high note, Bailey placing 4th in the pole vault was great. Lauren becoming a state champion in the 300 meter hurdles while setting a new school record was really special. I couldn’t be more proud of these girls. They have done an incredible job all year."
