The AHS Class of 2016 graduates!


The AHS Class of 2016

The Adrian High School Class of 2016 crossed the stage to accept their diplomas for successfully completing the requirements to graduate from AHS.  The top two academic achievers in the Class of 2016 spoke to their fellow classmates, family, friends and R-III staff. Adam Cochran delivered the Valedictorian speech and Sara Geringer spoke as this year's Salutatorian.

Mr. Abe Lewis, Middle and High School Principal, gave a heartfelt speech about the seniors. He expressed gratitude for the band and choir students' leadership this year.  Lewis talked about lunchroom conversations with seniors.  He shared an enlightening story of one senior's decision to drop out of school then she returned and worked diligently to meet all of the requirements needed to graduate.  This young woman, wearing a cap and gown, took her place with her classmates on stage.

The Senior Ensemble sang together for the final time at graduation with a stunning performance to "Go the Distance."  Vocalists included:  Sara Geringer, Kalene Kielsel, Brooke Wilson, Hunter Chamberlain and John Thompson.

Scholarships were presented by Mr. Lewis and Counselor Chancy Glynn.  Mr. Bret Still, R-III Board of Education President, presented diplomas.

With diplomas in hand, R-III Superintendent Don Lile presented the graduating Class of 2016.  The grads celebrated by tossing their hats high in the air.


To end the ceremony, the seniors and the audience sang the school song then the Blackhawks band played the recessional.  The newest members of the Adrian Alumni Association walked from the stage to greet family and friends.
