From the Desk of Don Lile, Adrian R-3 Superintendent: Cold Weather Reminder

A Reminder As Colder Temperatures Arrive. Don't forget those coats and gloves
October 25, 2016
Dear Parents
The decision to close school for inclement weather is not a simple matter. As we start to head into the winter months, I would like to remind you of our process for getting the word to you as quickly as possible during extreme winter weather conditions.  If school will need to be cancelled, you will receive a message from our automated phone system. I will try to make this decision as quickly as possible so that you will have time to make other arrangements for your children.  In some instances, a decision will be made the night before and the call will go out that evening. This information will also be posted on our website, Facebook page and Twitter account as well.  Two years ago we started using late starts for extremely cold mornings and will continue to use these. If this is the case then you will receive an automated phone message from the school stating what time school will start that day. The district will also be using WDAF Channel 4, KCTV Channel 5, KMBC Channel 9, and KSHB Channel 41 for school closings as well.
Thank you
Don Lile
Adrian RIII Superintendent
