Mark-Time by Liz Ray

Here's my story for the week...

Mark   time
Two whole wonderful weeks my son Mark was here—and, of course, along with his two dogs, Cadi and Koko.
Since he lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the drive down takes around eight hours. So when the dogs get here they are ready for a good ole country run.
Except on Wednesday of the first week, Cadi took a “town run” and was gone for about eight hours before we found him around 1 a.m. with the help of Sharon and Lisa and others who posted sightings.
Not only did I just enjoy Mark’s company but I enjoyed all the little fun “home improvement” things he did for me.
He decided to move the three-tiered concrete bird bath fountain out of the yard onto the back deck.  He got a new pump for the fountain and so now it is running once again and up where it can be enjoyed more.
Then I love the way he took some of the furniture on the deck and moved it around just a little so it’s a better conversation area.
He also decided I needed a little color to make things “pop” as he termed it.
So he painted one of my round metro metal side tables a chartreuse green and another one a bright blue and a big ole metal bug a magenta and a couple of adirondack chairs yellow—some fun colors.
Then we bought 300 LED multicolor lights which he strung on the rafters on the back deck.  He set them to go on at dusk for two hours which lights up the deck just enough to make it nice—gives a good atmosphere.
Then, of course, he knew about my surprise 80th birthday celebration at the church but kept it a secret from me.
And I love the big whirligig wind spinner he got me for my birthday and the white metal goat and colorful metal bird.
But most of all I love and appreciate him. He is my best present and I thank God for him.
“I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart…” (Psalm 86:12 KJV)
 Love in Jesus,
 God’s “ Mark-loving” servant,
 Liz Ray
