Recent Blackhawk grads to play basketball at the collegiate level

Two graduated members of the 2016-2017  basketball team that played for the state title have committed to playing basketball at the next level.   Congratulations go out to Bailey Reed and Lauren Shipley for signing on to play college basketball.
Lauren will be playing for Drury University while she majors in Exercise Physiology.  She plans to be a physical therapist who works with rehabbing injured athletes.  After she gets her bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology she will then attend physical therapy school. Drury University is a private liberal arts university located in Springfield, MO offering more than 70 undergraduate and graduate programs.  Basketball competes at the NCAA-II level.
Bailey Reed recently announced her plans to play basketball at Penn Valley Community College. Bailey will study to become a pediatrician.  She will major in biology before moving on to med school.   Penn Valley is a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association and will play Cottey College out of Nevada, MO.  Cottey features a former teammate, Malory Moles.  The two teammates will have a chance to compete against each other Thursday, January 18th at 6pm at Penn Valley.
Bailey and Lauren have been basketball teammates since they were in elementary school together.  In fifth grade they played in the Show-Me games at the Hearnes Arena basement.  That is the basement of the building they would play in 7 years later when they defeated Oran in the semi-finals.  "I can remember Dad telling us that if we work hard, maybe one day we can play upstairs" said Lauren.
Here's to many more memories for these Adrian alumni!
