CIERRA PUGH
Cierra Pugh has a special gift in art.  She has grown as an artist in her years at Adrian R-III and check out her work now!

We asked Cierra to share information about each of her drawings and here's what she had to say:

Top Left:  Junior Year, Award Winning Charcoal Design
Cierra chose this design from her favorite musical, Demon Barber of Fleet Street.  The drawing is Sweeney Todd, played by Johnny Depp.  She found inspiration through listening to songs in the musical in the few weeks she was creating the design.  Mr. Colter Schacher, AHS Teacher, selected this design as his top pick in the Art Show last year.

Top Middle: Senior Year, Charcoal Pencil Design
Students were asked to choose a celebrity or someone important in their lives.  Cierra chose Harley Quinn from Suicide Squad.  She found this project to be a challenge as she had never used charcoal pencil before.  In addition, she missed a few days of school and had a shorter amount of time to complete it.  That said, she embraced the challenge and enjoyed every minute of it.  Cierra said, "I'm good at portraits and I love new things so the pencils were cool."

Right:  Junior Year, Pen Drawing
Cierra chose a Harry Potter theme.  She said, "The pen drawing, I can tell you right now, was a hard thing to master.  I was scared the entire time that I would mess up and ruin it."  Look how great it turned out, Cierra's hard work paid off!  She was pleased with her work.  "I really like how this one came out, it's one of the handful of pieces that gave me a headache. I'm most in love with the patronus deer, it was the hardest part but came out the most beautiful."

Bottom Left:  Senior Year, Abstract Portrait
Cierra chose to do the black on white and white on black portraits.  With encouragement from Art Teacher Ben Palmer, Cierra also created a color portrait in two days!  Two days was achievable for Cierra because she said, "I've always been good at portraits."
