Big Win for the Varsity Football Team over Liberal

Adrian traveled to Liberal Friday night and upended the Bulldogs 56-0 in a game the Blackhawks dominated from the opening coin flip.   The team led 27-0 after the first quarter which allowed the JV squad to see extended action in second and third quarter.
Adrian scored on both sides of the ball.  Freshman Korbin Kisner started the scoring with a pick six in the first quarter.  Senior James Keating put pressure on the quarterback.  Kisner stepped in front of the forced throw and had nothing but grass between him and the endzone.   Junior Ryan Glaser capped off the scoring with a 26 yard dash to paydirt thanks to a hole formed for him by the junior varsity offensive line.

Coach's Comments:
I like the way we started tonight. Too many times we wait until we get punched in the mouth to start to play. We came out ready tonight. We have to learn how to do that no matter who we play. We've got to get that killer instinct. Defensively we were very good again tonight. I think we gave up something like 12 total yards and scored 2 TDs and a safety. You can't do much better than that. Offensively we kind of hit our stride, too. I think we had over 280 rushing yds. on about 38 carries. That averages over 7 yds. a carry. We'll take that. We need to be working on our passing game. That will be something we focus on in the near future. It was a good win and everybody got to play. We can't dwell on it, though. We have Drexel coming in next week, and they will give us their best game. We've got to be ready. We appreciate all the fans who have come to support us. Hopefully, we'll have a big home crowd this Friday.
