Grooms and Sears to serve in armed forces/emergency services

Class of 2018 grads Vander Grooms and Will Sears were honored with other men
and women in uniform at the 9-11 program at the Adrian Optimist Building.

The most recent graduates of Adrian High School are well on their way to doing incredible things in the coming years.  At the 9-11 program held at the Adrian Optimist Building tonight, two Blackhawks from the Class of 2018 were in uniform along with many others that were honored and recognized for their service.  Many congrats and a whole lot of gratitude goes to Vander Grooms and Will Sears as they prepare to serve this great county/country.

This Monday, Vander Grooms is leaving for active duty in the United States Marine Corps at Camp Lejune, North Carolina.  He will undergo field/infantry Marine Combat Training.  From there, Vander will find out where he will be stationed.  This summer, Vander went to basic training in Parris Island, SC.  Vander, thank you for your selfless decision to enter the armed forces and defend our freedom.  Be safe and God bless you.

Will Sears will be taking firefighter classes in Butler.  He continues to serve with the Adrian Fire Department, volunteering his time to assist the community in times of need.  Will, your compassion for helping others is endless.  Thank you for serving and may God bless you.

Good luck, boys!  You sure have made Adrian proud!
