The Adrian Lady Blackhawks are Class 1 District 10 champs after defeating the Drexel Bobcats and Rich Hill Lady Tigers in straight sets Tuesday night in Adrian.
The highlight of the first match against Drexel was the second set. Adrian fell behind quickly 0-4 before taking serve. Junior Makenna Hummel served out the next 24 points to end the match.
In the second match Adrian defeated Rich Hill in straight sets to claim the crown.
The Blackhawks advance to sectionals this Saturday in Carl Junction. Adrian (28-5-2) will square off against McAuley Catholic (24-5-2). The winner advances to the quarter finals played the same day for the right to play in the semifinals in Cape Girardeau.
