Adrian Boys Open 89th Annual Archie Tournament With Easy Victory

Adrian entered the the 89th Annual Archie Tournament as the number one seed with a 14-0 record after beating Appleton City last Friday 69-30.  As the top seed they squared off against the 8th seeded Hume Hornets.  As most top vs lowest seeded match-ups go this was over in the first quarter.
Adrian scored all the points they would need in the first quarter (28) en route to a 74-27 victory.
The Blackhawks built up a decent lead and swapped out players regularly to spread out playing time.  they played keep away the fourth quarter with the game most decidedly in their favor.
Normally this type of game would see a steady diet of  JV players getting game experience. However, Adrian had a shallow bench this game due to a large number of junior varsity players playing in a JV tournament in El Dorado Springs.
Adrian will face the Midway Vikings Thursday at 6 pm in the second round.  Midway knocked out the Rich Hill Tigers in their opening game 59-33.  The winner advances to the championship and will face the winner of the Warsaw vs Butler game.
