Districts for Adrian Musicians!

Top photo:  Drew Burris, Colton Nelson and Hunter Nelson earned a II rating (Outstanding) for their trumpet trio at Districts in Stockton, MO.  Bottom photo:  The quintet of Katelyn Frazier, Caitlyn Sass, Ashtyn Aurand, Dylon Piveral and Mary Wood also earned a II rating (Outstanding).

The Blackhawks traveled to Stockton, MO for Districts in Band and Choir.  It was a long day for the 26 Blackhawks who sang/played, but they gave exceptional performances!  With a I rating (Exemplary) at Districts, Hunter Nelson will take his trumpet solo to state, as will the Women's Vocal Ensemble comprised of Ashlyn Foster, Avery Bruto, Ragan Hendrix, Evy Keating and Jordyn McCammon.  Special thanks to Band Teacher Sydney Ware, Choir Teacher Morganne Welhoff and Accompanist Kim Young, who spent countless hours preparing the kids for contest!  Congratulations, Blackhawks!!!

Mrs. Welhoff also shared her sentiments.  "These students have worked so hard and have overcome so many obstacles with a snowy winter! Many of them will perform at the pie auction in a few weeks! Come out to hear their performances! Go Blackhawks!"

In the afternoon, a judge commented on how well-behaved and well-mannered the Blackhawks were at Districts.  He also stated that it was impressive how they supported each other.  Pictured, all of the Blackhawks from band and choir squeezed into a classroom as a show of support and encouragement for Mary Wood as she played her flute solo.  A few could not be pictured because there were so many and only two in the crowd are not Blackhawks.  Great school spirit, musicians!
