It's time to rally around the Goddard Family!

The 1st Annual Pink Out was organized by Jessie McWilliams and Erin Huckaby in 2011 with the Adrian Volleyball Teams. Pink Out was personal to McWilliams as she was honoring her mother, Lynn, a breast cancer survivor.

In 2011, Adrian Volleyball Coaches Jessie (Goddard) McWilliams and Erin Huckaby spearheaded the 1st Annual Pink Out, a fundraising event hosted by the Adrian volleyball teams. The event was well-received by the community, and sponsorships and donations led to a healthy contribution to the American Cancer Society. Pink Out was personal to Jessie. Her mother, Lynn, beat breast cancer and was recognized as a survivor at the 1st Annual Pink Out. Erin didn't coach the next year, so Jessie continued on with Pink Out and her players until she left the district in 2014. Since then, Head Volleyball Coach Kelsi Robards, the other volleyball coaches, and all JH/HS players, have continued raising funds and cancer awareness. In addition to Pink Out, Lynn Goddard was the inspiration for the Relay for Life Team and Team Hope that were developed when Jessie McWilliams taught in Adrian.

It's been almost 10 years cancer-free for Lynn Goddard. She received the devastating news on April 2, 2019 that cancer has returned. Jessie posted this on her Facebook page: "My Mama received this news almost exactly a month ago & I don’t think I’ve been able to take a full breath since. I’ve always prayed that we would never have to think about cancer touching our family again, but the battle begins. Tomorrow is a big day for my Mom, as she will figure out what the plan is going forward. I know so many of you have lifted her and our family up in prayers, and for that I am extremely grateful. I am trying to read through the comments on her original post, but am having a hard time seeing through the tears. THANK YOU to everyone who has reached out to her and us over the last couple of weeks. Tomorrow the battle starts. We have a war to win! We love you more than you will ever know, Mom. We are in this fight with you!"
