Summertime has not stopped Adrian FCCLA!  They have been on the go this summer!  In June, an FCCLA team and sponsor Elizabeth DiLillo went to the MOtraction Conference in Springfield, MO.  The conference focused on promoting safe driving habits and making positive changes in Adrian and local communities.  Ms. DiLillo shared highlights of the conference:  "We began the conference with a speaker discussing their reasons for the traffic safety conference and the importance of keeping people safe on the road, then the students completed a personality test. We had a fancy dinner complete with desserts and then competed in team building and olympic challenges including an extreme eating competition! Wow, what a day! We had three learning sessions, a mock crash, a guest speaker, team building AND planning! Also....we built a whale."
Adrian FCCLA Officers took a break from the Officer Retreat and spent the day at Silver Dollar City, accompanied by Ms. DiLillo and a little friend!  Five great girls:  Shellby Nebocat, Kenzi Essenpries, Kendal Wimsatt, Jordyn McCammon and Abbie Johnson.

In July, the Adrian FCCLA officers traveled to Branson with Ms. DiLillo for the Officer Retreat.  The 2019-2020 officers are:  Abbie Johnson, Jordyn McCammon, Kenzi Essenpries, Shellby Nebocat and Kendal Wimsatt.  When the retreat began, the officers hit the ground running and never stopped!  Ms. DiLillo said, "When we arrived, the 2019-2020 officers updated our Bylaws, Officer Responsibilities, points sheets and made our Goals and Aspirations page for the 2019-2020 year. I am so proud already of the things these five have accomplished. After all of their hard work and watching them work together I cannot wait to see what the rest of the year holds for these five and for FCCLA! We had a ton of fun and worked really hard. We even got to see one of my favorite coworkers (Megan Horton)."  The officers and Ms. DiLillo had some fun, too, at Silver Dollar City and stops along the way!
Later in July, Ms. DiLillo attended the MOACTE Conference in Springfield, where career-technical educators learned new skills.  She shared specifics about it.  "Flat pattern making class was from 9-4 and we learned from a professional in the industry in St. Louis. If your child is interested in Fashion AND MATH AND TECHNOLOGY, this is a great six figure job opportunity that is in high demand. I cannot wait to share this information and skill with Fashion 1 and 2 this year!  Artisan bread baking was from 530-8pm, so it was quite a busy day. We learned from an industry professional about the techniques needed to make artisan bread. This morning in general session we are being motivated by Gerry Brooks!"  Ms. DiLillo, you rock!  Thank you for the many things you've done this summer and always for the Blackhawks!
