Blackhawks unite in the professional world!

Chara (Oldfield) Jensen, Class of 1995 and Lauren Shipley, Class of 2017

In a K-12 building like Adrian R-III, it is often stated that there are numerous benefits to younger kids interacting with older kids and vice versa.  Blackhawks helping Blackhawks becomes a way of life and is ingrained students year after year.  That rang true when two alumni from the Class of 1995 and the Class of 2017 teamed up in the professional world.

Lauren Shipley, Adrian High School Class of 2017, is
majoring in Exercise Physiology at Drury University. She plans to become a Physical Therapist upon graduation.  In order for Lauren to fulfill requirements for her major, she needed to complete an internship in her field of study. Lauren connected with fellow Blackhawk Chara (Oldfield) Jensen, who is a Physical Therapist at Mercy Therapy Services in Lebanon, MO.

Chara graduated from Adrian High School in 1995.  She has been a Physical Therapist at Mercy Therapy Services for 16 1/2 years.  Lauren hit the jackpot with an experienced mentor like Chara!  She's not only a fellow Blackhawk and a Physical Therapist, Chara is an all-around good person who has compassion for everyone.  Lauren is the same way!

About Lauren's internship, Chara said:  "It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed having her. I loved having her and introducing her to the physical therapy profession."
