The Adrian Blackhawks went on to Lakeland's home court Friday night and handed the Viking a loss in their inaugural game in WEMO conference action.
The win did not come easy until the second half. Adrian shot less than 50% from the field in the game hitting 16 of 35 field goal attempts and only 6 of 17 from the free thow lane. Many of those misses happened in the first half. Adrian scored 14 in the opening quarter and only seven in the second quarter. They led 21-19 at the half giving the Vikings hope of an upset.
All that changed in the second half when the Blackhawks came out on fire topping their first half point total with 22 points. The fourth quarter was more of the same with 16 additional points. They outscored the Vikings in every quarter and won pulling away with a 16 point margin.
"We struggled to make shots early in the game but continued to play hard" said head coach Tyson Basore.
Adrian's season record climbed to 6-5 and WEMO record is 1-0.
