The Adrian girls varsity basketball team out ahead early and never let off Monday night beating the visiting Sherwood Marksmen 58-36 in non conference action. It was all Blackhawks from the opening tip to the closing seconds. Bailey Reed led all scorers with 17 points. Malory Moles had 15 and Lauren Shipley had 13. Adrian rebounded much better this game and had five players listed as leading rebounders. Anna Walley led the rebounding with 10 boards.
Balanced points, rebounds, steals and assists show the girls played well as a team in this contest. Adrian won big without hitting any three point shots.
"We did a good job of rebounding, sharing the basketball and playing with good energy on defense" said head coach Shaun Bruto. " We still have a lot of room for improvement but this was a good win for us."
Adrian improved its record to 11-1 overall. They travel to Lutheran High School Thursday night to take on the Lady Knights. Game time is scheduled for 7pm.
