Adrian Volleyball Hangs Tough Against Notre Dame de Sion to Open the 2016 Season

The Adrian Blackhawks opened the regular season Thursday evening with the first of a stretch of very tough games.   The Lady Hawks hosted Class 4 Notre Dame de Sion out of Kansas City.   Despite the difference in sizes of the schools Adrian held it's own in the game taking the first set 25-23 before falling in the final two 19-25 and 17-25.

"I am extremely proud of our effort tonight" said Heach Coach Kelsi Robards.  "We came up short but the girls never gave up. I think this was a great first match for us and I am anxious to see what the rest of the season holds."

Adrian's record may stand at 0-1 but the level of competition will pay off for them as the season progresses.   This year's squad is a very talented group of girls that are fun to watch.   Equally fun to watch was the student section.  There were as many students on hand to cheer on the girls as there are for varsity girls and boys basketball games.    Fans who come to the games are guaranteed to see some high-caliber players and be entertained by the enthusiasm of their fellow students rooting them on.
