The Blackhawks are back in action!

The clock struck midnight and the Blackhawks are back in action!  In the spirit and longtime tradition of the Adrian Blackhawks, the volleyball team took the court and the football team took the field for the first practice of the season in the early hours of August 1, 2016.  The players and coaches have been working hard over the summer and they are ready to rock!

As the season begins, 18 girls are out for volleyball, losing just one player to graduation (Malory Moles) while welcoming a talented freshman class.  In football, 33 boys are playing under the Friday night lights, including incoming freshmen who are suiting up for the first time as high schoolers. Last year's quarterback, Gage Steen, handed over the reigns to his brother Hunter upon graduation.  Look for Steen, sophomore, to step up for the Blackhawks this season. Familiar faces are returning to the field/court, including a strong leadership of seniors who are taking on their last midnight practice. All of the players are vital to the success of the Blackhawks and big things are ahead!

The AHS cheerleaders begin practices today, August 1, at 1pm.  They are a strong squad and ready to work hard!

Bring your Blackhawk Pride and cheer on your teams this season!  Go Blackhawks!

As volleyball practice begins at 12am, Head Coach Kelsi Robards and Assistant Coach Megan Johnson outline plans and expectations for the season with the Lady Blackhawks.

During midnight practice, Head Coach Matt Cochran and the assistant coaches review plays and teach the players about the game of football.
