The Adrian Blackhawks traveled to Osceola and got back on the winning track with a 35-12 blowout of the Indians on their homecoming. Much like Adrian's homecoming the week prior the game was close in the first half but lopsided in the fourth quarter.
Adrian was led on offense by sophomore QB Hunter Steen's 189 yards rushing on 19 carries and 71 yards passing. Steen also found paydirt three times on the ground and once on a pass to fellow sophomore Gavin Reed. Dylan Novovesky was perfect on five extra point attempts.
Zachary Shannon led the defense with 11 tackles. Five were solo tackles with one a quarterback sack. Another sophomore, James Keating, also recorded a sack as did yet another sophomore, Anson Johnson, when he tag-teamed with junior Josh Collins taking down the Osceola quarterback.
"We had a good win tonight" said head coach Matt Cochran. "After last week, I was worried how we would react. We had a couple of miscues on defense. Other than that the defense was pretty solid. Offensively, we struggled at times. However, the kids persevered and managed to score five times. We had almost 300 yards rushing which is good. We have Sherwood coming to town and it's our Senior Night. Come out and show appreciated to our seniors. Show your Blackhawk Pride."
