2016-2017 Lady Blackhawks Basketball Meet the Teams

The Lady Blackhawks return four starters from last year's 26-3 team that swept the conference as well as take home first place in the WEMO, Midway and District tournaments.  This year's team will be a solid team that welcomes the addition of talented freshman,  Jenna Shipley to the ranks of varsity to make up for the loss of Malory Moles to graduation.
Jenna will start varsity but the rest of the freshman class is also very good and will spend much of the season honing their skills to help fill the void when this year's senior class graduates.   Seniors on the squad are Bailey Reed, Lauren Shipley, Anna Walley and Sheldon Tallman.
Returning lettermen include Sheldon Tallman, Anna Walley, Kerigan Wimsatt, Camryn Pruitt, Lauren Shipley, Bailey Reed and Remi Pittman.

Probable starters for the team will be:
Lauren Shipley - Sr.   All-Conference, All-District, All-State
Bailey Reed - Sr.  All-Conference, All-District
Sheldon Tallman - Sr.  All-Conference
Anna Walley - Sr.
Kerigan Wimsatt - Jr.
Jenna Shipley - Fr.

Head coach for the team is Shaun Bruto who is in his 9th year of coaching with 4 years at the varsity level.  Assisting Bruto will be Meghan Vanslyke and Brenna Tallman.  Managers for the team will be Kaylie Chancellor and Riley Valis.

Head coach Shaun Bruto says experience and leadership will be the strength of the team.  Things to work on will be chemistry and defense.
