AHS football players honored for academic excellence

Four AHS football players have been honored as 2016 Academic All-State recipients.  One senior, Logan Harris, and three sophomores received the nod for excellence in the classroom.  Sophomores include:  Dakota Harris, James Keating and Gavin Reed.  Several other players were thisclose to earning the academic honor, too.
To receive this honor, at least two of the three qualifications listed below must have been met by December 2, 2015:
1.  Attain an ACT score of 25 or higher

In addition, a player must also have started in at least 70% of the varsity football games. Freshmen are not eligible to receive this honor.
Kudos to the football coaches and the administration for encouraging student athletes to focus on academics and strive to do their best both in the classroom and on the field!
