The Adrian Blackhawks varsity wrestling team participated in the Butler Tournament last week and represented the school very well by bringing home the third place trophy. There were 14 teams involved with Adrian finishing behind teams from Lathrop, MO and Rogers, AR. Adrian beat out the likes of Butler, El Dorado Springs, Warsaw, Knob Noster, Holden and even Shawnee Mission North.
Final place finishes: Weeks 2nd, Lalumia 1st, Piveral 5th, Fenton 2nd, Nebocat 9th, Shannon 2nd, Keating 6th, Ochsner 6th, Stark 6th, Forgette 9th, Jones 6th.
Assistant Coach, and Adrian R3 wrestling great, Christian Graham had this to say about the tournament: "We took third place as a team and I know us coaches were very proud to see everyone come together as a team to get a team trophy. It was also very nice to see where we stand and what we need to fine tune leading into districts next month."
