Goodman, MO Fundraiser Update

In April Adrian R3 student, Robert Reese, organized a fundraiser to benefit the Goodman, MO school district.   Goodman was severely affected by a tornado April 4th.

Last week Robert and other volunteers were able to deliver the school supplies. Because of the damage to the school, which was classified as a total loss, they had moved 1-3rd grade to a cafeteria-sized room in their district offices building. There, they had set up dividers to create the different classrooms and offices. They met and took pictures with Samantha Hamilton, the principal, and the librarian, Mrs. Isenhower.

Robert would like to reiterate that Missouri TSA helped donate the most of the supplies, and that the high school and community libraries of Adrian donated books to the cause. Mrs. Ford and the school helped as well.

Despite the damage from both the tornado and flooding, all of the staff they talked to were optimistic, cheerful, and determined. "The community is staying strong, and is giving ample support to the school" said Robert.  "It was great to see them banding together to help each other out!"

Robert Plans on starting a second fundraiser for them near the beginning of the next school year, as there will be better deals on school items and materials. They are specifically in need of hardback picture books, as the library was one of the parts of the building that received the most damage.
