Lady Blackhawks Win Midway Tournament

For the fourth consecutive year the Lady Blackhawks reigned supreme at the Midway Tournament.   They also landed two players on the All-Tournament team.   Senior Remi Pittmand and sophomore Jenna Shipley were announced to the team following the presentation of the plaque and medals.

Adrian had an easy first game defeating KC Lutheran 58-24.  Their next two games were more challenging.  The wins verses Crest Ridge and Lone Jack in the championship happened in games where the Lady Blackhawks had to overcome trailing late in each game.

Toughness and determination is a good way to describe their play.  The team did not hit a three point shot in the semi-final game against Crest Ridge and were only 2-8 from 3pt range in the championship.   They scored points the old fashioned way: they earned them.

In the championship game against Lone Jack Jenna Shipley netted 18 points with 11 coming in the first quarter to help her reach the 1000 point mark in her career.  With added attention placed on her Remi Pittman came up big for the Blackhawks scoring 16 points of her own.
