The West Central Missouri All-Star baseball game, hosted by the Leeton Lions Club, took place on June 3, 2019 at Crane Stadium. Representing Adrian was Senior Garrett Hester, who took the mound for the final time as a Blackhawk. He pitched one heck of a game with 8 strikeouts in 4 innings with no hits or runs! At the plate, Hester went 3 for 5 with 2 RBI's and 1 stolen base.
The All-Star teams were divided by North and South. Hester played for the South. The North squad included players from these towns: Lexington, Slater, Concordia, Higginsville, Lone Jack, Knob Noster, Sweet Springs and Santa Fe High Schools. The South included: Green Ridge, Adrian, Archie, Holden, Leeton, Pleasant Hill and Warrensburg.

South Coaches were: Nate Beissenherz, Concordia; Josh Fisher, Santa Fe; Dustin Darby, Lone Jack Players: Matthew Gatewood, Concordia; Tanner Sears, Higginsville; Emmitt Parrot, Knob Noster; Caden Mitchell, Knob Noster; Dylan Howell, Lexington; Hunter Ward, Lone Jack; Conner Bergman, Santa Fe; Wyatt Sims, Santa Fe; Caleb Bergman, Santa Fe; Dylan Stockman, Slater; Nick Ortzian, Sweet Springs.
Hester's contribution to the Blackhawks this season was superior. His talent speaks for itself, whether he was on the mound, at first base or at bat. That superiority went above and beyond just talent, though. Hester was a mentor to younger players, and was often seen "coaching" and encouraging them in a constructive, positive, helpful way. Thank you, Garrett! You will be missed! Now go down there to Bama and show 'em how it's done! We'll be following you in Adrian! Roll Tide!
